Who Is Your Host?

Jae

(she/her/ella)

Officially: I am a researcher in the field of psychology. A lot of the work the team I work with does is focused on improving mental health services for children. I have also been a “Podcaster” for 4 years and going!

Bottom line: I think it is important to have a safe space where people can tell their stories and share their life experiences. A place where we can cry, we can laugh, we can be a little dark, and a place where we can shine a lot of light - somewhere we are accepted and can use our voice to help others learn from our experiences.

About the Podcast

This podcast was created for us to grow a community of First-Generation Americans. I want to create a space where we can relate to one another or listen to other’s experiences and learn from them. The podcast will focus on highlighting the experiences of First-Generation Americans with mental health, motherhood, life in academia, and much more.

“I used to wait for someone powerful to give me permission to use their power. Other people were the gatekeepers, the change makers. But the truth is, you don’t need to wait for anyone else. Find your role to play, and show up. You are the one.”
